Update: Pinellas Park PD arrests apartment shooter

Pinellas Park, Florida -- Pinellas Park Police have arrested a man for a shooting at a local apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

Police say three adults were in the apartment at Runaway Bay Apartments on 88th Avenue North when someone fired multiple shots at it around 4:14 a.m. 

Based on information developed during the course of the investigation, Pinellas Park Police detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Daniel Damien Arocho Soto, of Tampa, for attempted first degree murder.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police detectives have recovered two firearms that were stolen from a detective's ditched in Lake Maggiore Monday.

Weapons, police items stolen from unmarked cop car...again

Pinellas Park, Florida -- Less than two days after a police car was stolen and ditched in a lake minus the firearms stored in its trunk, Pinellas Sheriff's detectives say this isn't the first time.

Detectives are asking for the public's help identifying the suspect or suspects who stole weapons and other police items from an unmarked Sheriff's vehicle sometime between 5 p.m. on March 11 and 7 a.m. on March 12.

Wanted home invasion suspect captured

Largo, Florida -- Largo Police say the home invasion suspect sought after a shootout with police late Thursday night was caught by Pinellas Sheriff's deputies.

Police tried to apprehend 19-year-old Terry Lamar James at a home on Thursday night in the 6300 block of 144th Street North. Police say James tried fleeing from the home, when he made contact with a Largo Police officer. During their brief encounter, police say both the officer and James shot at each other.

The officer was unharmed, but James got away.

Man arrested for robbing two banks in two days

St. Petersburg, Florida -- The man who robbed two banks in the past two days was arrested around 7 p.m. Feb. 27. 

St. Petersburg Police detectives in partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Erik Michael Durkin at Nadiya's Cabaret without incident.

Durkin has been charged with the robbery of the SunTrust Bank at 3601 34 Street North on Feb. 25 and the TD Bank at 425 22 Avenue North on Feb. 26.

Man impersonates being firefighter for free food, drinks

St. Petersburg, Florida -- A man was arrested at his Clearwater home Wednesday morning on charges he impersonated a firefighter so he could get free food and drinks at various locations, including All Children's Hospital.

St. Pete Police say 22-year-old Robert Spalla represented himself to employees at All Children's Hospital as a firefighter who has been with the St. Pete Fire Department for the past five years.

During their interactions with Spalla, hospital employees told police he would ask for special privileges such as food vouchers or gas cards.
