Pinellas County, Florida -- The Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County is sponsoring a Community Real Estate Development program at the University of South Florida.

The program offers practical training for staff responsible for creating successful affordable housing and community based real estate development programs.

Pinellas County, Florida -- Residents who are thinking about buying a new home won’t want to miss There’s No Place Like Home, the radio show sponsored by the Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County.

This month’s focus is the HOPE (Home Ownership for People Everywhere) Expo, coming to the Raymond James Financial Center on Saturday, June 8, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The expo offers a vast amount of information on home ownership, as well a daylong HomeBuyer Workshop. Tampa real estate booming; leads state

Tampa, Florida-- The numbers are in, and they are up! More homes were sold last month in the Tampa Bay area than in in the past seven years combined.

According to MLS figures, 3,100 homes were sold in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties last month, a 7 percent increase compared to the same month in 2012.

Home sales prices also increased, up 22 percent over the same time period. 

The average home in the Tampa Bay area sold for $150,000.

Conference focuses on housing choices

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Tampa Bay Fair Housing Consortium will present Housing Choices, Free of Discrimination on Friday, April 19.

Check-in is at 8 a.m. The program runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The day-long conference will be held at the Centre Club, 123 S. West Shore Blvd. in Tampa.

County Health Department Center reopens Jan. 28

Pinellas County has announced its Health Department's Clearwater center will reopen to serve the community on Monday, Jan. 28.

It had been closed for renovations since late July.

Pinellas County, Florida -- If a new home is on your wish list for the holidays, Pinellas County may be able to make it easier. The First-Time Homebuyer Program is available to those who have never owned a home, have not owned a home in the last three years or are veterans.

UPARC Presents President’s Award to Pinellas County staff

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County Community Development employees were presented with UPARC’s 2012 President’s Award for their work on the renovation of Waterfall Apartment Complex and the Harborside Studio.

The Harborside Studio is an art studio for developmentally challenged clients. The awards were presented in September to Sheri Harris, compliance manager and Rose Ott, grant compliance specialist.
